What is a .OTT file?
Everything worth knowing about OpenDocument Text Template files.
An OTT file is an OpenDocument Text Template, a reusable layout and style starting point for word-processing documents in the open ODF standard. It is the template version of ODT, used mainly by LibreOffice Writer. Opening it usually creates a new document from the template rather than editing the template itself. LibreOffice (free), Microsoft Word (2007+), Google Docs, and ONLYOFFICE all open it.

Is my .OTT file uploaded anywhere?
No. Your .OTT file is unpacked for you. The first time, a small open-source unzip component is downloaded and then cached.
Are spreadsheet formulas recalculated?
The viewer shows the values your spreadsheet program saved, and the formula behind each cell when you click it. It doesn't recalculate, so what you see matches the file exactly.
Why do my slides look a little different?
Slides are rebuilt from their text, images and positions. Themes, animations, charts and some shape effects are simplified in the preview.
Can I open a password-protected .OTT file?
Not yet. Encrypted .OTT files are detected, and password support is on our roadmap.
What about .xlsx, .docx and .pptx?
Use the Word Viewer for DOCX and the Spreadsheet Viewer for XLSX and XLS. A PowerPoint viewer is coming soon.
