What is a .YAML file?
The most common data format on the web.
A .yaml (or .yml) file is plain-text structured data or configuration written in YAML, used for CI/CD pipelines, Docker Compose, Kubernetes manifests, and app config. Open it in any code editor; VS Code with the YAML extension is the safest choice because it flags indentation errors. YAML requires spaces for indentation; a stray tab causes a parse error.
