What is a .LRTEMPLATE file?

An LRTEMPLATE file is a legacy Adobe Lightroom develop preset, a saved set of photo adjustments (exposure, color, tone) you apply in one click. To use one, import it into Lightroom Classic, which automatically converts it to the current .xmp format. The newer cloud-based Lightroom (CC/mobile) cannot open .lrtemplate files directly and requires the .xmp version instead.
