What is a .JGW file?
The most common data format on the web.
A JGW file is a plain-text "world file" that tells GIS software where a JPEG sits on a map: its real-world position, scale, and rotation. It contains no image data. Add the paired .jpg to QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, or AutoCAD Map 3D and the .jgw is read automatically. To inspect it, open it in any text editor; it is just six numbers.
