What is a .DJVU file?
Everything worth knowing about DjVu Document files.
A DJVU file is a DjVu Document, a scanned book, journal, or archived paper stored as compressed page images, usually with a searchable text layer. Open it free with SumatraPDF or WinDjView on Windows, Okular on Linux, or MacDjView on macOS. The most common need is converting DJVU to PDF so the file opens on any device; Okular's Print to PDF or the ddjvu command-line tool from DjVuLibre both do that without extra cost.

Is my .DJVU file uploaded?
No. Your .DJVU file is opened and rendered for you. The first time, a small open-source rendering component is downloaded and then cached.
Why does the first file take a moment?
The first time, your browser downloads the rendering component. After that it's cached, and new .DJVU files open in a second or two.
Why are some images shown as grey boxes?
Some .DJVU files embed image types the browser can't draw (such as TIFF or JPEG XR). Text, vector graphics and standard PNG and JPEG images are shown normally.
Can I search inside my .DJVU file?
Yes, when your .DJVU file includes a text layer. Files that are pure scans or drawings without embedded text can't be searched.
Can I convert my .DJVU file to PDF?
Not yet in this viewer. You can save any page as an image. A .DJVU to PDF converter is on our roadmap.
