What is a .CED file?

A CED file is a small management file written by JVC AVCHD camcorders into the PRIVATE\JVC folder on the SD card. It holds no video. Your actual footage is in the .MTS files inside AVCHD\BDMV\STREAM. Open those MTS files in VLC. You cannot convert a CED to MP4 or any video format because there is no video data inside it.

Why can't some files be converted?
Files protected with DRM (for example purchased iTunes .m4p songs or some .wmv rentals) are encrypted. We can show what's inside, but nobody can convert them without the key.
