What is a .BIB file?
The most common data format on the web.
A BIB file is a plain-text BibTeX bibliography database - a list of references (@article{...}, @book{...} entries) used with LaTeX to auto-generate citations and reference lists. Open it in JabRef (free, purpose-built) or any text editor. It is plain text and carries no risk.
